Projects - OLQP Ranch South
Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Southern Alberta) Ltd. is a non-denominational, non-profit organization that was founded in 1988, with the first event happening in 1989. Their vision is to enable children aged 5-16 who are physically, mentally or financially challenged to have a FREE outdoor ranch experience. On the weekend, financially challenged families are welcomed to the Ranch for “Family Camps”. In the early 1990's horseback riding, tractor lead wagon rides, hiking, fishing, canoeing and a BBQ hotdog lunch were added to our daily programs. Since then, the Ranch has continually striven to improve by implementing additional programming areas and equipment such as the fully accessible playground and pontoon boat, swimming dock, teepee's and most recently OK Corral, Walton Hall, Shower House, Trading Post and Westmount Field. Along with these wonderful new additions comes better programming with higher accessibility to all the children that we serve.
Since the opening of Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Southern Alberta) Ltd. it handles over 25,000 visitors each year, providing them with a unique, educational yet fun experience. These numbers will continue to climb rapidly as Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Southern Alberta) Ltd. is proud to announce a second Ranch in Edmonton, Alberta, Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Northern Alberta) Ltd. that is due to open on July 1, 2009.
